Here are the things you should consider when hiring a buyer’s agent to represent you in the purchase of a new home:

1. Trust. This is huge, according to the National Association of Realtors. Your agent should be someone you trust personally and professionally. This is important, but it’s not the only thing you should consider.

2. Experience. It’s important that your agent knows what they’re doing and has proven that with a number of successful real estate transactions. They don’t have to be a seasoned veteran, but they need to be an active, prolific agent who is dedicated to their career.

3. Market knowledge. It’s important that your agent knows what’s going on in different areas, school districts, and neighborhoods. When they have an understanding of these areas on a deeper level, you can benefit greatly. Having contacts in the form of inspectors, services, etc. will also help protect you as a buyer.

"You want to work with a skilled, experienced professional."

Purchasing a home is probably going to be one of the largest financial transactions of your life. You want to work with someone who is skilled, has experience and negotiating ability, and can guide you through the process correctly to help you make the best decision.

If you have any questions about your personal situation or about the real estate market in general, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
